It is my great joy and honor to invite you to join us for the 2008 International Worship Institute.
I and the IWI leadership team truly believe this will be a historic event.

By the very nature of our design and creation, we humans are wired for worship.
And, of course, our Creator and Lord is the only appropriate object of worship. He is the only
“I Am” worthy of our adoration and praise.

However, in recent times, it seems that worship has morphed into the object of itself; I and
other leaders have come to see that we tend to worship “worship.” We’ve all seen worship
become industrialized, marketed, and boxed into a music genre.

At last year’s IWI, our dear friend and brother, Bob Sorge, delivered a landmark word when he spoke on “It’s not business; it’s personal.” In that word, we all caught a glimpse of how we have turned the Lord’s church into opportunities for our own careers, products, services, and good ideas.

We repented.

And then we really heard the Lord call us to gather around nothing but His Presence this year. He is the object of worship. We only want to behold Him.

So, this year’s IWI will be very radically different. Yes, we will still have an outstanding and anointed faculty – people like Jack Hayford, Robert Stearns, Eddie James, LeAnn Albrecht, Ross Parsley, and others – and great, useful, and practical workshops. We will have exhibits from our friends who have valid ministries and services which will benefit you in your field of labor to the Lord.

But, we are more intensely focused on His Presence than we’ve ever been. As a result, this year’s IWI will not be so activity- or consumer-driven. And though we know we’ll receive much from the leaders who minister to us, we will be far more focused on the Lord’s presence than on personalities.

And, because we will not be caught up in commercialism or promotion of other purposes and agendas, we will also be able to linger in the embrace of His Presence.

Think of it! No agendas, just God’s Presence.

I trust you can come to Dallas-Ft. Worth. I believe this is a watershed time for IWI – and you’ll be grateful that you didn’t miss it.

Sincerely,

Steve Fry
President
